In the build-up to the NBA Finals, legendary basketball figure Jerry West has been vocal about his thoughts on the match-up between the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

West, a consultant for the Warriors, has praised the team's creativity and versatility, particularly highlighting the "Splash Brothers" duo of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. West noted that the effectiveness of Curry and Thompson lies in their adaptability, with Curry being described as a player who plays with finesse rather than force.

West has also shown his support for Curry, referring to him as "the face of the NBA." He has praised Curry's adaptability and creativity as a passer, a quality that has been instrumental in the Warriors' success.

West's respect for LeBron James is evident as well. He acknowledged James' ability to carry teams on his shoulders and make it to the Finals six straight times. West also noted his admiration for James, who has been on teams that lost more than they won in the Finals, similar to West's experience with the Los Angeles Lakers in 1969, where he became the only player on a losing team to be voted Finals MVP.

West has criticized those taking shots at James' Finals record, stating it as "the most ridiculous thing." If he were James, he said, he would want to "strangle" those taking such shots.

In a separate matter, West opposed a trade of Klay Thompson to Minnesota for Kevin Love about two years ago. Love eventually joined the Cavaliers after the discussed trade was opposed by West.

Outside of basketball, West expressed his admiration for the late Muhammad Ali, citing Ali's courage and impact on the world following Ali's death on Friday.

Jerry West, known for his graceful dribbling, is known to be knowledgeable, opinionated, supportive, and appreciative. His insights and contributions have been instrumental in the success of the Warriors, who are attempting to build a 2-0 lead over the Cavaliers in the NBA Finals.
