Discovered: Hate Speech against Jews Spotted in University Dormitories

Hey there, Georgetown University peeps!

Here's the skinny on a crappy situation that went down on June 16, 2025. Some asshole etched Nazi swastikas into the pillars of McCarthy and Kennedy Halls. Icky, right? The Georgetown University Police Department (GUPD) is currently turbo-investigating this hate crime.

If you've got any dish on this mess, don't be shy, spill the beans to GUPD at 202-687-4343 or drop them an email at police@our website.edu. You can also be all hush-hush and report things anonymously via the LiveSafe app.

We're not cool with antisemitism, period. It's got no place on our campus. We're sending love to our Jewish buddies and recognizing that this sort of hate symbol has a long and miserable history.

Keeping our crew safe is our top priority. Here are some tidbits to help you navigate the student jungle:

  • Use the LiveSafe Mobile App. The LiveSafe app is your personal security system. It connects you with the GUPD and the Capitol Campus Department of Public Safety (CCDPS) during emergencies. You can also report suspicious activity, call for a SafeRide Shuttle or personal escort, or use SafeWalk to share your location.
  • Tattle on shady stuff. Program GUPD's number (202) 687-4343 and CCDPS 's number (202) 662-9325 into your phones. If you witness threatening behavior or suspect someone's prepping for violence against the university or a fellow Hoya, hit up the Georgetown Threat Assessment Program.

Take care of your mental and emotional health, too. Head on over to our Every Hoya Cares online resource center for all the help you need.

Did you see something that makes you all twitchy? Fill out the Bias Related Incident Reporting form or call GUPD at 202-687-4343. By reporting these incidents, Georgetown can offer support to those affected and hold any jerks who violate university policy accountable for their actions.

Sorry about the bummer news, but rest assured we're taking action pronto.

Sincerely,

Rosemary Kilkenny(vice president for diversity, equity, and inclusion)

Fr. Mark Bosco, SJ(vice president for mission and ministry)
