Disconnecting Factual Knowledge from Practical Understanding

As a Malayali, there's a prevailing notion about the multitude of my fellow community members. For some time, the urge to express my thoughts has been gnawing at my fingertips. However, I desire a tranquil slumber tonight. Hence, I'm putting my thoughts into words now... Continue Reading.

Disconnecting Factual Knowledge from Practical Understanding

Ah, Strap in, friends! Here's a rant I've been itching to get off my chest for some time now. But first, let's grab a cup of chai 'cause this one's a doozy.

You know that feeling you get when you've had enough of somebody, and all they do is talk their fancy nonsense about themselves? Well, I've got a group in mind, and it seems they're a pretty big pack of self-proclaimed messiahs of democracy, my dear Malayalis.

I've been perusing social media these past couple of days, and it's become painfully clear that a substantial chunk of this particular group truly needs a lesson in humility. Their response to the election results? A disgusting display of arrogance, snobbishness, and intellectual superiority that leaves me with a burning desire to scream, "Can't ye take a loss with grace?!"

Their chosen weapon in this sickening attempt to justify their arrogance? "The highest literacy rate." Cue the endless flow of self-congratulatory memes, proclamations of intellectual superiority, and dismissive attitudes towards the rest of India. It's enough to make you want to stick your head in the chai pot and forget the whole charade.

But let's not forget the sheer audacity of it all: This tiny fraction of 35 million people, who've bragged about immigrating across the world in various professions, have no qualms talking down to immigrant workers from other States. The nerve, I tells ya!

And here's the real kicker: It's not just their boorish behavior on social media; it's their rigid attitude that stands in the way of Kerala achieving greater heights. Despite the resources and education they boast of, their "we know it all" and "we are always right" attitude has hindered their progress.

Let me tell ya, it's a wonder the rest of India hasn't dropped the hammer on their self-righteous, malodorous little heads yet. And don't get me started on the online dating scene - that's a whole other can of worms.

But I digress. The point I'm trying to make is, if this group of folks can't learn some humility and grace, they're going to be the nail in the coffin of an otherwise stellar State. They're perfect examples of how literacy and education don't always mean common sense or class. If that's the best they've got to show for it, then we might as well throw in the towel and embrace idiocracy.

So, heed my words: It's high time this pack of show-offs learns to be a bit more humble, a bit more gracious, and a whole lot less arrogant. If they can't rise to the occasion, maybe we should just let their fat, self-important heads explode under the pressure of their own narcissism.

As for the rest of you, let's just enjoy our chai and watch the trainwreck from a safe distance. Cheers!

P.S. Dear intellectually superior beings, I'm pretty sure NDTV is doing a better job than you at dealing with this. Just sayin'.
