While initial reports suggest Pérez was among the deceased, official confirmation has yet to be made.

Ex-baseball star Octavio Dotel (51), a renowned pitcher in the North American major league, was also lost in the tragic event, the Dominican league announced.

Antonio Espaillat, the disco's owner, offered his deepest sympathies to the families of the victims in a video message, assuring them of his solidarity and shared grief.

Nelsy Cruz, governor of the Montecristi province, was also among the casualties. Her brother, baseball player Nelson Cruz, expressed sentiments of sorrow and admiration for Nelsy's devotion to her people on Instagram.

Over 300 rescue workers sifted through the rubble in search of potential survivors, employing thermal imaging cameras.

Upon his arrival at the scene, President Luis Abinader expressed his profound regret for this disaster, pledging support for the rescue teams tirelessly working to clear the debris. "Our prayers go out to the families of the victims," he said, as the nation mourns for three days.
