Dirk Nowitzki Joins Amazon Prime NBA Broadcast Team
Basketball legend Dirk Nowitzki is set to embark on a new journey as he joins Amazon Prime's NBA broadcast team as an expert. The 44-year-old, who has not previously worked in the media, is eager to dive into his new role alongside analysts like Blake Griffin, Steve Nash, and Dwyane Wade.
Nowitzki, who shaped German basketball in the 2000s, is excited about the recent success of the German national team, including their EuroBasket title win in Riga. He is pleased that basketball is gaining more attention in Germany, with even the news reporting about the sport.
Before taking on his new role with Amazon Prime, Nowitzki opened two basketball courts in his hometown of Würzburg. He donated them to the Gustav-Walle School along with his foundation and the Dallas Mavericks. At the opening ceremony, he spoke in front of hundreds of students and invited guests, including table tennis star Timo Boll. Nowitzki described this event as 'closing the circle' between his old and new worlds.
Nowitzki, who will start his new role at the beginning of the new NBA season, sees this as a 'new challenge' and 'fast-paced' opportunity. He aims to do a good job in his new position with Amazon Prime, bringing his wealth of experience and knowledge to their NBA broadcasts.
