In the world of DC films, exciting developments are on the horizon, particularly for Robert Pattinson's Batman. James Gunn, the mind behind the new DC Universe, recently discussed the possibility of a future film featuring Pattinson's Batman and Corenswet's Superman.

The first instalment of The Batman, released in 2022, was a resounding success, both critically and at the box office. The film, starring Pattinson, Paul Dano, and Colin Farrell, received a four-star review from NME, which praised it for not retreading Bruce Wayne's origin story.

However, the sequel to The Batman finds itself in a state of flux. Despite the initial success, the production of The Batman 2 has been progressing slowly, a fact that Gunn has previously defended.

One thing that is clear is that the sequel will exist on a separate timeline from the new DC Universe, which launched this summer with Gunn's Superman. The DC Universe, which did not include The Batman's sequel, is a new era for DC films.

As for the villain in The Batman 2, DC and director Matt Reeves have hinted that it will be a first-time film villain, distinct from the likes of Joker, Bane, or Mr. Freeze. While the main unknown villain for The Batman 2 is not yet confirmed, the new Joker will be portrayed by Barry Keoghan.

Recently, Gunn debunked rumours about Robin appearing in The Batman 2. The identity of the main villain remains a mystery, adding to the anticipation for the upcoming film.

Stay tuned for more updates on The Batman sequel and the new DC Universe.
