Director of Longlegs unveils psychological horror film starring She-Hulk actress, trapping her and her spouse in a remote cabin teeming with hidden treacheries
Prepare for a chilling experience as indie studio Neon prepares to release the latest work of acclaimed horror director Osgood Perkins, titled "Keeper." Scheduled for release on November 14, 2025, this stylish supernatural horror tale promises to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
In "Keeper," Tatiana Maslany stars as Liz, and Rossif Sutherland plays Malcolm. The story unfolds as the couple embarks on a romantic anniversary weekend at a secluded cabin. However, the idyllic retreat takes a sinister turn when Malcolm suddenly leaves, abandoning Liz to face an unspeakable evil that reveals the cabin's horrifying secrets.
The plot of "Keeper" is shrouded in mystery, hinting at dark and supernatural elements. Is Malcolm a serial killer, bringing women like Liz to the cabin to kill and hide them in some sinister way? Or is it Liz herself who is the true killer, with the cabin harboring a malevolent entity that manipulates her mind and reality, haunting her until it ultimately claims her?
The film deliberately maintains an air of ambiguity, with trailers and synopses emphasising psychological terror, ambiguity between who is victim or perpetrator, and paranormal horror linked to the isolated cabin setting.
"Keeper" is a mind-bending take on a haunted house story, combining psychological thriller and surreal horror themes. It follows in the footsteps of Perkins' previous works, such as "The Blackcoat's Daughter" and "I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House," for which he has made a name as one of the leading indie horror directors.
Perkins' directorial debut was in 2015, and since then, he has shown versatility in his work, with "The Monkey" taking his work in a darkly comedic direction. His latest adaptation, "Gretel and Hansel" in 2020, was a unique take on the classic fairy tale.
Don't miss out on this "dark trip" when "Keeper" hits theaters on November 14, 2025. Get ready for a haunting and suspenseful journey that will leave you questioning the true nature of evil.
