Standing United: EU Foreign Ministers Visit Lviv, Offer Solidarity on Europe Day

In the spirit of demonstrating unity and support, a contingent of approximately three dozen EU foreign ministers and diplomats embarked on a visit to the western Ukrainian city of Lviv on Europe Day. Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, after conversing with EU foreign affairs chief Kaja Kallas, expressed his gratitude on Telegram, stating, "It's significant and symbolic for our European partners to stand united with Ukraine on Europe Day."
Discussions in Lviv revolved around several issues, including the current state of affairs on the front lines and the arms requirements. Shmyhal expressed his appreciation for the EU's allocation of one billion euros to aid Ukraine's arms industry. Moreover, the group paid their respects at the Lychakiv Cemetery, laying a wreath in memory of Ukrainian lives lost since the Russian invasion in 2022.
The visit saw the participation of 35 top diplomats, with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul among them. The EU foreign ministers also announced a gathering to discuss setting up a Special Tribunal aimed at indicting the Russian leadership for their actions.
