Southwest German Chamber Orchestra's New Year's Eve Concert: A Glamorous "Dinner for One"
Ring in the New Year with a festive and musical celebration as the Southwest German Chamber Orchestra presents their annual New Year's Eve concert, titled "Dinner for One". This much-anticipated event is set to take place on December 31st at 6 pm in the Great Hall of the Pforzheim CongressCentrum.
The chamber orchestra will perform in a large symphonic formation, welcoming many guest musicians to join them. The concert's motto, "Dinner for One", is a nod to the classic New Year's Eve television show first broadcast 60 years ago.
Chief conductor and presenter Douglas Bostock, a British native, will lead the orchestra through an enchanting evening of music. The concert programme includes three well-known suites from the orchestral repertoire: Tchaikovsky's music for the ballet "Swan Lake", Grieg's "Peer Gynt" Suite No. 1, and Bizet's "Carmen".
The dinner portion of the concert consists of three courses, each with a composition by three Sirs: Edward Elgar, William Walton, and Malcolm Arnold. The second half of the concert features a musical tour of Miss Sophie's estate in Britain, culminating in the performance of the Toreador's song, releasing the audience into a break for a first glass of champagne.
Tickets for the concert range from 39.50 to 47.50 euros, including advance booking fee and system fee. Subscribers to the chamber orchestra will receive a loyalty discount on the ticket price. Tickets can be purchased in advance from the ticket office in the Jewellery Worlds and at all Reservix ticket outlets. Any remaining tickets may be available at the box office with an additional box office surcharge.
Visitors are encouraged to dress up for a festive dinner, which can be enjoyed either at home or in a Pforzheim restaurant. The WSP director, Oliver Reitz, anticipates a glamorous, festive evening to mark the New Year.
