Dingden II to Glean Insights from Initial Year of District League Operation
In the upcoming district league season, BW Dingden II, coached by Dirk Juch, will be without several key players for their opening match against VfL Rhede. Felix Leyking and Jonah Koopmann, who were suspended last season, will continue to miss games, while Paul Schlattmann, Phil Hülzevoort, and goalkeeper Dennis Wanders are sidelined due to injuries.
The team's preparations for the new season have been affected by these absences, with Juch viewing last season as a learning year for his team. However, there is some positive news, as Sebastian Klein-Schmeink and Jens van der Linde, who were ill during the week, may still make appearances.
Last season, BW Dingden II faced VfL Rhede for the first time as newcomers, losing the initial match. However, they managed to turn the tables in the return game at Höingsweg. This season, Marek Pols, who has joined the team from Rhede's A youth, and Memetsah Cakar, who has returned from TuB Bocholt and has Landesliga experience in Dingden, will bolster the team's ranks.
In addition, Marius Schmeink has returned to the team as a goalkeeper, and Tim Vehns, who has been out since March, is likely to remain on the sidelines due to a diagnosed pubic bone inflammation.
Juch expects to face homogeneous village teams in the new season, and the opening opponent, VfL Rhede, will provide a good test of the team's mettle. The match will take place at Mumbecker Bach on Sunday at 3 pm.
Whether these teams are stronger remains to be seen in the new season. With the addition of new players and the continued development of the team, BW Dingden II will be aiming to make a strong start in district league group 4.
Despite the significant absences of key players due to suspensions, injuries, and illnesses, BW Dingden II is reinforced by the arrival of Marek Pols and Memetsah Cakar, while Sebastian Klein-Schmeink and Jens van der Linde may also join the squad. On the other hand, the Premier League and other European leagues, such as the European-leagues, might present stronger competition for the team this season.
