Diner Departure Speculation: Could Irene Truly Abandon the Eatery?
In the latest episode of Home and Away, beloved character Irene Roberts (played by Lynne McGranger) made the difficult decision to step back from her business, The Pier Diner, after many years. This decision comes as a result of Irene's Alzheimer's diagnosis, which has motivated her to travel while she still can.
Irene's long-time friend, John Palmer, offered moral support, but he was unable to change her mind. Leah Patterson, another cherished character, was devastated by Irene's decision and is currently trying to find an alternative plan. However, despite Leah's attempts to convince Irene otherwise, the character remains firm in her decision.
The final scenes involving Irene selling her share and saying goodbye at the diner were emotional and reflected an emotional farewell rather than any last-minute reversal. Tane Parata, Cash Newman, and Mackenzie Booth were also seen discussing the implications of Irene's departure, with Cash wondering about the relationship between Tane and Jo Langham.
