Dimebag Darrell's Dean From Hell guitar, Pantera's leading instrument, makes a surprising reappearance.

In a memorable moment for metal fans, Pantera's guitar tech Grady Champion restored and prepared Dimebag Darrell's iconic Dean From Hell electric guitar for the band's recent show in Cleveland. The guitar, known for its sticker-covered look and significant role as Dimebag’s Number One guitar, had been repainted and upgraded by Texan luthier Buddy Blaze decades earlier.

The restoration involved technical setup and ensuring its playability, rather than a full rebuild, as the guitar had been preserved and maintained over the years. Champion described the experience as "surreal" and shared clips showing the guitar being serviced and tuned for performance.

The Dean From Hell electric guitar, originally maroon-colored, is the axe most commonly associated with the late guitar great, Dimebag Darrell. The guitar was repainted and upgraded by Blaze as a surprise gift to Dimebag in the 1990s. During the show in Cleveland, the guitar met its real-world counterpart on Zakk Wylde's guitar, which sports a lightning design paint job.

Philip Anselmo was surprised when he found out he would be using Dimebag's Dean From Hell electric guitar during the show. The guitar, with clear war wounds across its body, was given "new life" for the performance on the track Goddamn Electric.

Meanwhile, talks have emerged about turning unfinished Dimebag Darrell demos into new songs. Another exciting development comes from Kayla Kent, a Pantera superfan, who is looking to start a new band. Her first demo shows Dimebag Darrell's spirit is very much alive and kicking.
