Dillian Whyte's former mentor discloses the backstory of the humorous video clip showing Whyte submerging a boxer in water during training

In the scorching heat of Saudi Arabia on August 16, 2023, Dillian Whyte, also known as "The Body Snatcher," steps back into the ring against the 20-year-old prospect Moses Itauma. The much-anticipated bout will be broadcasted live on DAZN PPV.

At 37 years old, Whyte is no stranger to the heavyweight division, having faced off against some of the biggest names in the sport. His last bout was against Alexander Povetkin in 2021, a fight he lost but later avenged in a rematch.

Moses Itauma, with a record of 12-0 (10KOs), is a rising star with great expectations on his shoulders. He is expected to dominate boxing's heavyweight division over the next decade.

Derek Chisora, a fellow heavyweight contender, has given his prediction for Whyte's fight against Itauma. Derek Yarde and Anthony Joshua, who were set for a rematch with Whyte in August 2023, are also guest panelists for the event. However, the rematch against Joshua was scrapped due to an adverse finding in Whyte's pre-fight drug testing.

Whyte's training camp for the Povetkin fight was spent in Portugal, and his former trainer, Mark Tibbs, was unable to join him due to family obligations. Despite their split, Tibbs hopes Whyte can upset the young Itauma.

Their relationship was not always smooth sailing. A viral clip shows Tibbs almost drowning Whyte with water in the corner during their fight, a moment that went viral due to its humorous nature. The incident occurred when an unwelcome character was trying to have a conversation with Whyte in between rounds, and there was no security in the corner.

Mark Tibbs and Whyte fought together for four years and 11 unbeaten fights, which ended in 2020. During their time together, Tibbs believed Whyte had "lovely, lovely long arms" and "a few tricks up his sleeve" due to his experience and the people he's been around.

Whyte's fight against Itauma can be watched only on DAZN. With the sizzling Saudi heat as the backdrop, this promises to be one of the biggest fights of the year.
