Betty Kieß Takes on New Role as Head of Communications at Federal Ministry

Betty Kieß, a seasoned communications professional, is set to join the Federal Ministry for Digital Affairs and Modernization as the head of the Department of Communications and Strategy. Kieß will officially begin her new role on June 1st.

Kieß's extensive experience in communications and public policy spans over 13 years, with her most recent positions including roles at Ceconomy and MediaMarktSaturn Retail Group and E.ON. At Ceconomy and MediaMarktSaturn Retail Group, she served as Vice President Corporate Communications & Public Policy since March 15th of this year. Prior to this, she held various leadership positions in communications at E.ON, most notably as Senior Vice President for Strategic Communications.

Before her tenure at Ceconomy and E.ON, Kieß served as Chief Communications Officer for C&A Europa. In this role, she oversaw the company's internal and external communications, brand & fashion PR, and public affairs across Europe. Notably, Kieß had previously collaborated with Dr. Karsten Wildberger, who led the company as CEO. With Wildberger now serving as the Federal Digital Minister, Kieß will also serve as his spokesperson.

The ministry, which is newly established, will rely on Kieß's expertise to build up its communications department. Kieß joined the new federal government as Digital Minister for the CDU at the beginning of May.

Despite a lack of verified information about Kieß's past professional experience or biography prior to her current role, her impressive career trajectory and successful track record in the communications industry speak for themselves. For those seeking more detailed information about her background, official government websites, professional networking platforms, or press releases from the Federal Ministry for Digital Affairs and Modernization may provide further insights.

In her new role as the head of the Department of Communications and Strategy at the Federal Ministry for Digital Affairs and Modernization, Betty Kieß will be responsible for both public affairs and policy-and-legislation related to the ministry. As a seasoned communications professional with a rich background in politics, general-news, and policy-making, Kieß will work closely with Dr. Karsten Wildberger, the Federal Digital Minister and her previous collaborator at C&A Europa.
