Digital business DigiPlus set to launch operations in Brazil's online gaming sector come September

DigiPlus Interactive Corp., a leading digital entertainment company from the Philippines, is set to launch operations in Brazil this September, marking a significant step in its global growth strategy [1][3][4]. This move targets one of the world's most promising electronic gaming markets, which is approximately twice the size of the Philippine market.

To execute this strategic expansion plan, DigiPlus has appointed Graham Tidey as Country Manager for Brazil in March 2025. The company is also building a high-performing local team aimed at driving growth and ensuring market relevance. The company's international headquarters, DigiPlus Global Pte. Ltd., based in Singapore, will support this broader regional and global expansion [1][2].

In Brazil, DigiPlus aims to replicate its success in the Philippines, where it commands nearly 50% of the online gambling market. The company plans to offer a portfolio of livestreamed games, slots, table games, and exclusive self-developed content via its cloud-based infrastructure [1][2][3]. To compete effectively with global and local operators, DigiPlus focuses on investing in technology and talent, building trust and regulatory compliance, and strengthening community engagement and corporate social responsibility [1][3].

The legalization of online gambling in Brazil is projected to generate substantial tax revenue, create jobs, and support related industries such as media and technology. DigiPlus' entry into Brazil is part of its strategic expansion programme to usher in DigiPlus' next phase of growth, as stated by Eusebio Tanco, DigiPlus Chairman [5]. The company's move follows the formalisation of Brazil's gaming regulations, with the licensing process being concluded in 2024 [6].

Brazil, with a population of over 200 million and nearly 90% internet penetration, is considered a natural next step. DigiPlus is joining a growing list of licensed international operators in Brazil, including Betfair, bet365, Stake.com, and domestic firms [7]. As part of the licensing conditions in Brazil, DigiPlus, like other operators, must establish a Brazilian legal entity and disclose its ownership structure [7]. A dedicated team in Brazil has been assembled by the company to ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and offer culturally relevant entertainment.

The company's expansion into Brazil is its first outside Southeast Asia. DigiPlus' portfolio includes BingoPlus, ArenaPlus, SpinPlus, and GameZone, with more platforms under development [1][2]. These platforms are known for innovations such as in-app self-exclusion tools that allow players to control deposit limits and gaming time—features that promote safer and more responsible gaming [1][2][3].

At the SiGMA Euro-Med event scheduled for 01-03 September 2025 in Malta, DigiPlus may potentially showcase its expansion into the Brazilian iGaming market [8]. This event offers a significant platform for the company to demonstrate its commitment to the global digital entertainment industry and its ambitious expansion plans.

DigiPlus Interactive Corp., in its strategic expansion, aims to offer a diverse range of sports-related entertainment in Brazil, including livestreamed games, slots, and table games, as part of its cloud-based portfolio. In line with its global growth strategy, DigiPlus plans to compete effectively with global and local operators in Brazil by building a high-performing local team and ensuring market relevance, supported by its international headquarters.
