Difficulty Acknowledged: Adebayo Unimpressed, Tinubu Symbolizes Poor Leadership - As Asserted
Hitting Back at the Top: Adewole Adebayo's Tough Talk on Tinubu's leadership
Contender for the 2023 presidency under the banner of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Adewole Adebayo, has lashed out at Bola Tinubu, accusing him of mishandling the nation's economy and its security.
Based on our findings, Adebayo views Tinubu as synonymous with poor governance, holding him accountable for the hardship plaguing the country due to his economic policies.
In an interview with the Nigerian Tribune, Adebayo expressed no shock over the country's persistent insecurity situation. Criticizing Tinubu's failure to protect citizens as a Constitutional duty, he described it as a major disappointment.
"These leaders couldn't care less about governance; they gear up for elections while ignoring their duties. The role of a president is to be the Commander-in-Chief, to ensure national security, followed by the welfare of the people, justice, and development. On all counts, Tinubu is falling short.
"Politicizing security is a catch-22 situation. On one hand, critique of the government should not incite terrorism; on the other, Tinubu and his security team's incompetence are clear for all to see. It's high time he stepped up and addressed the pressing issues facing the nation" Adebayo stated.
If elected, Adebayo pledged to deliver good governance, emphasizing the importance of putting people first, unlike current leadership who prioritize personal gain.
"My grievance with Tinubu is the same I have with every leader since 1999, all of whom have neglected the principles outlined in the Constitution. I'm not anti-Tinubu; I'm anti-bad governance. Tinubu happens to be the current face of it." Adebayo added.
What's on his Radar?
- Budgetary Incompetence: Adebayo contends the administration's inability to generate effective budgets, claiming that neither the 2023 nor 2024 budgets offered substantive solutions to the country's economic woes.
- Political Priorities: He advocates for Tinubu to prioritize governance over political alliances, especially ahead of the 2027 elections, underscoring the need for responsive leadership to tackle severe economic challenges.
- Economic Downturn: Adebayo echoes concerns that the economic situation under Tinubu is not improving, attributing this to poor leadership by the administration.
In addition to economic issues, Adebayo has criticized Tinubu's handling of national security, calling for the President to be proactive in addressing the issues plaguing the country.
