The trial against music mogul Sean John Combs, popularly known as Diddy, has taken a disturbing turn as a former associate of his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura has alleged an attack on a balcony. In her court testimony, Bryana Bongolan asserted that Diddy grabbed her, hoisted her over the balcony railing, and muttered threats against her life. The incident allegedly took place on the 17th floor of an apartment building in 2016.

In the New York City court proceedings, Bongolan recalled Diddy lifting her and holding her precariously over the balcony for about 15 seconds. She claimed that she was petrified of plunging to her death. The exact reason for the incident remains unclear, according to Bongolan's account.

Courtroom Uproar after Supporter's Ejection

The incident reportedly occurred at Ventura's apartment, and Diddy is said to have physically assaulted Bongolan before Ventura intervened. Bongolan bore injuries from the attack and continues to wrestle with nightmares. Fearing Diddy's wrath, she chose not to approach the police immediately after the incident. Photos of her injuries carry metadata that matches the date of the alleged attack, lending credence to her tale.

Signs of Diddy's alleged violent behavior towards his ex-girlfriend Ventura became evident during their friendship, as per Bongolan's recollection. Bongolan once observed Diddy with a black eye on FaceTime, and the music star was wont to bang on Ventura's door at night. The balcony incident occurred following a late-night disturbance at their apartment, with Bongolan hiding Ventura in the bathroom while she dealt with Diddy on the balcony. Diddy is said to have grabbed her and raised her over the balcony railing.

Criminal Actions

In another accusation, Bongolan testified about an alleged incident at a photoshoot in 2015 in California. With Ventura by her side, Bongolan claimed that Diddy came menacingly close and threatened her, stating, "I'm the devil, and I could kill you." Bongolan admitted to a history of drug abuse, including cocaine, ketamine, and marijuana, but confirmed that she was not under the influence during her court testimony.

Last year, Bongolan filed a lawsuit against Diddy seeking millions in damages. The civil case is underway, with Bongolan slated to testify in Diddy's federal trial scheduled for June 4, 2025. The lawsuit alleges Diddy dangled Bongolan over the balcony of Ventura's apartment, threatening to send her to her demise. Diddy's lawyer denied the allegations.

Ventura took the stand earlier in the trial, accusing Diddy of years of severe abuse. The prosecution is attempting to portray Diddy as a volatile, dominant personality who established a culture of psychological coercion and intimidation. Regarding the incident in her apartment with Bryana Bongolan, Ventura testified that she saw Diddy pulling Bongolan back over the balcony railing and flinging her onto the garden furniture.

Diddy faces charges of sex trafficking, organized crime, and other criminal acts. He denies all allegations and pleaded not guilty. If convicted, he faces a life sentence, with the trial likely to span several more weeks.

The Commission might find it pertinent to consider the implications of Diddy's alleged violent behavior, both in his musical career and personal life, as it deliberates on the draft directive on the protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to carcinogens. The entertainment industry, like any general-news or crime-and-justice platform, should remain vigilant in reporting such incidents, especially when they highlight extreme acts of violence and potential criminal activities.
