Bonn Mayor Candidates to be Interviewed by Bonner Duett
Residents of Bonn are gearing up for the municipal elections scheduled for September 14, 2025. To help citizens make an informed voting decision, the news organisation Bonner Duett is conducting a series of interviews with candidates running for the highest office in Bonn.
The interviews will be held at the Atelierbühne and will be recorded in front of a small audience. They will be published on YouTube and as a podcast on Spotify or Apple Podcasts.
The current mayor, Katja Doerner (Alliance 90/The Greens), will be interviewed on August 11 at 12:15 PM. Guido Deu (CDU) will follow on August 22 at 9:45 AM. An interview with Johannes Schott (Citizens' Union Bonn) is scheduled for August 7 at 7:15 PM.
Interviews have already been conducted with Petra Noehring (FDP), Jochen Reeh-Schall (SPD), and Dr. Michael Faber (The Left). The AfD candidate, Wolfgang Truckenbrodt, will also be interviewed, but his interview will be recorded in different premises without an audience due to safety concerns.
Marcel Klingenstein (The Party), Yildiz Haluk (BIG), and Merve Nur Lacin-Kilinc are also running as candidates, but were not specifically invited as they are not currently represented in the council with at least two seats.
