DHS Announces Roadside Ambushes: Scheduled Deputies Operations in May

Chapter: GIBDD Raids Across Russia in May 2025

Get ready, Russian road users! The GIBDD, your trusty traffic cops, are gearing up for a series of-well, let's call them enlightening-raids across the land of bears and babushkas. Here's a lowdown on when and what to expect.

The main event? Identifying drunk drivers, and these checks will take place throughout May, on the 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th, 30th, and 31st.

But wait, there's more! Inspectors will also beef up their control over seat belt and child seat usage, keeping a hawk's eye on drivers from the 5th to the 12th, and the 19th to the 23rd.

"Zebra crossings" will be under a watchful gaze from the 5th to the 11th. And if you're fond of tinting your car windows, beware! Inspections will occur from the 5th to the 12th, with additional ones on the 15th, 16th, 29th, and 30th.

Driving on the wrong side of the road will cost you a fine on the 5th, 6th, 12th, 13th, 19th, 20th, 26th, and 27th.

If you're a taxi driver, expect two waves of checks - from the 22nd to the 24th, and from the 26th to the 31st. Bus drivers will face increased scrutiny from the 19th to the 23rd. Motorcyclists and scooter riders should be on high alert on the 10th, 11th, 17th, 18th, 24th, 25th, and 31st.

Heavy vehicles will be under close watch by inspectors for the first half of the month, until the 15th.

The GIBDD will also continue to crack down on vehicles with non-standard lighting devices, targeting cars with subpar headlights, as reported in the "GIBDD Raids" Telegram channel (18+).

While I'm here, let me fill you in on some pension news. Pensioners with work records from 1991 to 2005 will receive compensation, and those with records before 1991 will see their pensions increased by 1.7 times. And guess what? Working for a pension isn't mandatory, and there are ways to earn bonus points "for free."

Stay tuned for more updates, and remember, drive safe out there!

In May 2025, the GIBDD will enact mandatory inspections for drivers using zebra crossings from the 5th to the 11th. Additionally, there will be policy-and-legislation changes regarding pensions for individuals with work records from 1991 to 2005, which will result in compensation. Contrarily, driving on the wrong side of the road will incur fines on several specified dates. Moreover, heavy vehicles will face scrutiny from the GIBDD throughout the first half of the month, with a focus on non-standard lighting devices.

Russia's traffic authority plans extensive roadside operations nationwide in May 2025. The specific dates for these crackdowns in various regions have been disclosed.
