DHL Express Supercharges Munich Hub for Faster European Deliveries

DHL Express has expanded its logistics hub at Munich Airport to handle growing demand for urgent shipments. The upgraded facility now spans 11,000 square meters and employs 250 staff. Construction, managed by SEGRO Germany GmbH, is set for completion by October 1, 2024.

The Munich hub operates like a high-security airport terminal. Every shipment passes through scanners, similar to luggage checks, while customs officials inspect goods on-site. Efficiency is key—workers load containers quickly to keep express planes on schedule.

The expanded hub strengthens DHL Express’s ability to move time-sensitive goods across Europe. With advanced scanning, customs checks, and dedicated flights, the facility ensures rapid turnaround for businesses and private customers. The October completion date marks the next step in scaling operations at Munich Airport.
