A three-day photography exhibition, Frames of Freedom of BUFT – From Uprising to Awakening, took place in Dhaka from December 18 to 22. Organised by the BUFT Photography Club, the main event highlighted visual storytelling and creative freedom through 130 selected works. The opening ceremony featured prominent figures from Bangladesh’s arts and education sectors.

The exhibition was formally launched on December 18 at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. Faruque Hassan, chairman of the BUFT Board of Trustees, inaugurated the event, while Yousuf Tushar, president of the Bangladesh Photographic Society, attended as the guest of honour. The showcase displayed 130 photographs chosen from 7,661 submissions, focusing on themes of uprising and cultural awakening.

On the final day, a prize-giving ceremony recognised outstanding contributions. Awards were presented in multiple categories, including Best Photograph, Jury Award, and Special Mentions. Chief guest Mostofa Sarwar Farooki spoke about photography’s power as a tool for cultural expression and social reflection. The event was sponsored by Giant Group and supported by Fashion Step Bangladesh. The BUFT Photography Club successfully concluded the exhibition, reinforcing its role in promoting contemporary photographic talent.

The exhibition closed with a celebration of artistic achievement and a renewed focus on photography’s impact. Over three days, visitors experienced a curated selection of works reflecting Bangladesh’s creative and social landscape.
