DFB Secures Hrubesch's Coaching for Potential Olympic Run

After weeks of speculation, it's official: Horst Hrubesch will remain head coach of the DFB women's team, even if they manage to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics. DFB President Bernd Neuendorf confirmed this news at a media conference in Frankfurt am Main.

Originally stepping in as an emergency assistant for the DFB in October 20XX, Hrubesch replaced Martina Voss-Tecklenburg, who had fallen ill following Germany's World Cup debacle in Australia. Her contract with the DFB was subsequently terminated.

Under Hrubesch's guidance, the DFB women reached the Nations League semi-finals and now have hope for the Olympic ticket. They received their long-awaited dream ticket for the final round of Olympic participation on Monday, 20XX. The team will face France in the semi-finals of the Nations League, but will play away from home.

A Double Opportunity Awaits

Qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics presents an exciting double opportunity for the DFB team. They still have a chance to secure two of the remaining Paris tickets, as France, as tournament hosts, will automatically qualify for the games.

If France advances to the final, Germany can secure their spot with a third-place finish in the tournament. However, if they fail to qualify, their next major tournament would not occur until the summer of 2025, as the European Championship will take place in Switzerland.

Hrubesch's Desire to Continue

During a recent interview, Hrubesch revealed his desire to continue his involvement. Despite wrestling with various issues, he stated: "As long as I feel I can give something to soccer, I’ll carry on. There's no age limit for me."

He also expressed his passion for the Olympics. "The Olympics would be another absolute highlight. For the girls, but also for me," Hrubesch said, hinting at the possibility of leading the team in Paris if health and agreements permit.
