Devoted Ukrainian Hero, Oleksiy Velihosha, Gives Life in Martyrdom

This young paratrooper lost his life while bravely executing a combat mission near the village of Stupochky in Donetsk Oblast. The Wheel Mechanic Who Became a Warrior
Born on March 7, 2003, in Pylypkivtsi, Khmelnytskyi Oblast, Oleksiy's zest for life was evident from the start. His childhood fascination with vehicles and cars led him to pursue a career in mechanic work. After graduating from the Khmelnytskyi Higher Vocational School No. 11, Oleksiy started working at the Agrobiznes bread factory as a driver.
The Journey from the Bread Factory to the Battlefield
Oleksiy's life took an unexpected turn with the full-scale invasion on December 4, 2022. Moved by the call to protect his country, he signed up with the Armed Forces of Ukraine and joined the ranks of the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade. Deployed to the Eastern front, he executed crucial combat missions, including the defense of Bakhmut.
A Smile, a Positive Attitude, and an Unbreakable Spirit
Remembered for his infectious smile, positive attitude, and kind heart, Oleksiy was a cherished member of his company. He was a diligent student, leaving a lasting impression on all his teachers and masters at his alma mater. Despite the harsh realities of war, Oleksiy maintained his upbeat demeanor, always spreading positivity amidst the chaos.
The Order of Courage
Posthumously, Ukrainian authorities awarded Oleksiy the Order "For Courage" III degree—a testament to his valor and dedication. Even in death, this brave soldier continues to inspire and honor the Ukrainian people with his unwavering commitment to country and service.

The young paratrooper was laid to rest in his hometown, where a monument adorned with his dream jeep serves as a touching tribute to his life and sacrifice. Leaving behind his parents, sister, brother, and their families, Oleksiy's memory lives on in the hearts of the Ukrainian people, forever associated with courage, resilience, and unwavering spirit.
In the midst of his career as a mechanic and driver, Oleksiy Velihosha found a new calling when he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During his service, he demonstrated an affinity for sports, particularly excelling in both football and American football. His teammates on the battlefield often looked forward to friendly matches, where Oleksiy's agility and spirit shone through, even amidst the challenges of war.
