Devoted Ukrainian Hero, Alexander Reznik, Loses Life in Selfless Act of Courage
July 27, 2023: The Selfless Life of Alexander "Boroda" Reznik
Hardened by war and emblazoned in valor, 34-year-old Alexander Reznik, also known as Boroda, paid the ultimate price on the fateful day of July 27, 2023, in the Zaporizhzhia region. According to reports, the intrepid soldier's life was taken by ruthless enemy artillery shelling, as he valiantly evacuated his wounded comrades from the village of Robotine.
Resilient and rugged, Alexander hailed from the village of Horodkivka in Vinnytsia region. Before succumbing to the call of duty, he successfully completed his education at the Nemyriv Construction Technical School with a specialization in "Equipment and Gas Supply Systems Servicing." Barking orders in the bustling environment of the Koziatyn Distillery, he spent his early career flexing his engineering muscles.
As tensions escalated in 2014, Alexander, armed with a fierce determination to protect his homeland, answered the call of duty during the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO). Once the full-scale invasion was unleashed, Alexander reverberated back into the fray, eager to defend his country's integrity with every fiber of his being. Serving in the mortar battery of Military Unit 3028 of the National Guard of Ukraine, his position as a gunner saw him participating in the fierce battles of Kyiv, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions.
Words spill like water when one speaks of Alexander Reznik. His comrades and loved ones remember him as brave, strong, kind, and courageous. As much a beacon on the front lines as he was in his personal life, Alexander embodied the qualities of patriotism and self-sacrifice to such an extent that his legacy will forever be etched in the annals of Ukrainian history. Facing countless dangers with an unwavering spirit, he demonstrated extraordinary courage and resilience on the battlefield. Despite the perilous trials he encountered, he fearlessly risked his own life to save and support his comrades.
Yevheniya, Alexander's devoted wife, wrote heartwarming words about the cherished husband and loving father he was. "Unyielding as an oak, brave, strong in spirit and body, full of strength and determination, above all, he was faithful to his country and love it. He had a loving family, enjoyed life, and was hardworking," she eulogized.
Buried in his final resting place in Tomashpil, Vinnytsia region, Alexander was welcomed into the arms of his awaiting parents, wife, and cherished daughter on earth.
