Devils reshuffle lineup ahead of critical Jets showdown on Sunday
The New Jersey Devils are preparing for their next game against the Winnipeg Jets. The team held a practice session on Saturday afternoon at RWJBarnabas Health Hockey House inside Prudential Center. Several players are set to return, while others remain sidelined or out of the lineup entirely.
Defenceman Johnathan Kovacevic and forward Evgenii Dadonov both took part in Saturday’s practice. Both are recovering—Kovacevic from off-season knee surgery and Dadonov from an undisclosed injury. The pair will travel with the team to Winnipeg and are expected to play on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Dougie Hamilton is likely to be a healthy scratch for the game. Dennis Cholowski has been assigned to Utica in the American Hockey League, reducing the defensive options for the Devils. The team will fly to Winnipeg later today ahead of the Sunday afternoon matchup. Zack MacEwen remains out for the season after undergoing ACL surgery, while Stefan Noesen is still recovering from knee surgery and will not feature anytime soon. No other injured forwards have been confirmed to return for the game.
The Devils will face the Jets with a reshuffled lineup. Kovacevic and Dadonov’s return adds experience, but key absences remain. The game will test the team’s depth as they continue their season on the road.
