Devendra Fadnavis Introduces a New Podcast, Encourages Public to Safeguard the Heritage of Notable Figures in the State
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has launched a new podcast titled 'Maharashtra Dharma', aiming to serve as a moral and cultural guide for the people of Maharashtra [1][3]. The podcast, launched on 'Ashadhi Ekadashi', delves into the legacy and spirit of Maharashtra's rich history, thinkers, social reformers, and protectors of religion.
In the inaugural episode titled "Maharashtra Dharma: Foundation and Formation," Fadnavis discusses topics from ancient epics like the Ramayana and Mahabharata to the teachings of Gautam Buddha and the spiritual evolution of Maharashtra [3]. He highlights how Maharashtra has produced warriors, thinkers who founded the nation concept, and builders of modern India, citing examples like Saint Dyaneshwar, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mahatma Phule, and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar as embodiments of this heritage [1].
The podcast is positioned not merely as a historical recount but as a living moral code that guides how to live life in Maharashtra, preserving and advancing the values of sacrifice, endurance, and wisdom inherited from the state’s icons [1]. It also provides a platform for the Chief Minister to communicate directly with the public, promoting the cultural identity of Maharashtra and reinforcing the state's unique ethos [2].
Fadnavis emphasises that Maharashtra Dharma is not a religion but a code of ethics, urging people to think wisely, act with service, and stand with courage [3].
