Deutsche Bahn unveils upgraded lounge and travel centre in Cologne
Deutsche Bahn has reopened its renovated travel centre and lounge at Cologne Central Station. The upgrades mark the sixth location to receive a modern refresh under the company's updated design plan. Passengers can now use expanded facilities with more seating and service counters. The newly refurbished DB Lounge in Cologne spans 448 square metres, offering 100 seats split between premium and comfort areas. This follows the company's recent upgrades in Düsseldorf, Nuremberg, Hamburg, and two Berlin locations. Cologne is the latest of 13 lounges nationwide, which together served around 3.3 million travellers in 2025.
The travel centre itself has also been enlarged, now covering 320 square metres with 16 service counters. Deutsche Bahn plans further modernisations later this year, targeting Mannheim, Dresden, and Göttingen by the end of 2026.
The expanded lounge and travel centre aim to improve passenger experience at one of Germany's busiest stations. With more space and updated facilities, the upgrades reflect Deutsche Bahn's ongoing investment in key transport hubs. Further renovations across the network are expected to follow in the coming months.
