Details on the upcoming Mayoral Election slated for September 28th
The city of Bergisch Gladbach is gearing up for a runoff election on September 28, 2025, to decide the next mayor. The candidates for the runoff are Alexander Felsch (CDU) and Marcel Kreutz (SPD).
In preparation for the election, the voting office is seeking volunteers to help with the process. Interested parties can contact the election office at [email protected] or 02202 / 14 2414.
For those who prefer to vote by mail, it's important to note that third parties are not allowed to handle votes as the election is personal. However, you can contact the voting office to check if you have requested mail-in voting materials for the runoff election. The contact details are 02202 / 14 2888 and [email protected]. If you checked the box for receiving mail-in voting materials, they will be automatically sent to you.
If mail-in voting materials do not reach travelers in time before their departure on September 28, 2025, they cannot be located by the election office. All others can go to the voting office beforehand. Voting will be based on the same voter registry as the main election.
Voting at the office will be available from Monday, September 22. The polling stations will be open from 8:00 AM until 6:00 PM on that day. On the election day, the polling stations will open at 8:00 AM and close at 6:00 PM. A personal ID or voting slip is required to vote at the office.
It's worth noting that this only applies to those who have automatically received the mail-in voting materials and have confirmed this by checking the box. If you have already requested mail-in voting for the runoff election and did not check the box for receiving the materials, you can go to the voting office to cast your vote. No new voting notifications will be sent for the runoff election.
The voting office will close on the Friday before the election at 15:00. For those who choose to vote at the office, voting will be available from Monday, September 22, from 10:00 - 18:00.
