The Lounge Society's Electric Debut

Details: Feeding the Hungry - The Lounge Society's Scheme

*The Lounge Society consists of Cameron Davey (vocals/bass), Herbie May (guitar), Hani Paskin-Hussain (guitar), and Archie Dewis (drums). Their debut EP, Silk For The Starving*, produced by the legendary Dan Carey, is here, and it's a raw, energetic, and unapologetic masterpiece that's set to electrify a disenchanted youth.

Grab your dancing shoes, because these tunes will not only reignite your faith in society but also give your feet a solid beat to move to.

"Silk For The Starving" was created with the aim of offering an explosive glimpse into the band's soul - a twelve-minute prologue of the raw energy they embody. Every note, every rhythm, and every lyric was crafted meticulously by the band members working together like a well-oiled machine.

Although it may seem like the EP was hastily put together, its creation was a long, laborious process. Tracks like Burn The Heather, which dates back approximately three years, are a testament to this. It's fascinating to think about how an old track morphed into its current form, eventually being resurrected during the lockdown.

Burn The Heather has stirred controversy due to its direct disdain for the Grouse Shooting culture. The band reveled in the backlash.

After spending the majority of their time locked away in their rehearsal space, the band decided it was time to record and release an EP. The four tracks that made the final cut were the ones that best represented their energetic and honest essence. They deliberately chose not to create an experimental or slow-paced EP; instead, they opted for four dynamic, truthful tracks. In their eyes, any of the four tracks could have been a single.

Television and Valley Bottom Fever offer a deeper insight into the band's spirit compared to the singles.

They produced this record during a strange and unpredictable time - in the midst of lockdown, yet just enough to sneak away for recording sessions. The atmosphere of the recordings is hard to pinpoint, but there's a sense of hope that permeates the music. Despite the grim state of the world, they managed to create music they adore with their idolized producer. This unique mix of circumstances and passion resulted in the electrifying vibe that Silk For The Starving radiates.
