Bauma 2025: The Global Construction and Mining Industry Gathers in Munich

Preparations for Bauma 2025, the world's largest construction trade fair, are well underway. The event, scheduled from April 7-13, 2025, in Munich, will once again serve as the heartbeat of the construction and mining machinery industry, attracting delegations from across the globe.

International interest is particularly high this year, with significant participation expected from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Peru in the mining sector. The event is anticipated to draw around 600,000 visitors and over 3,500 exhibitors from more than 57 countries.

Bauma 2025 will focus on innovation and future-oriented partnerships, emphasising the industry's role as a global innovation driver and marketplace. Key themes for the fair include climate neutrality, alternative drive concepts, networked construction, sustainable construction, and the mining challenge. These themes reflect the industry's priorities on digitalization and sustainability, including strategies for reducing carbon footprints, resource conservation, circular economy, automation, and ensuring supply security of commodities.

The five primary focus areas at Bauma 2025 are:

  1. Climate neutrality — Addressing strategy, investment, and roadmaps toward reducing emissions.
  2. Alternative drive concepts — Exploring opportunities, limitations, and infrastructure for alternative powertrains.
  3. Networked construction — Integration of machines, processes, and people through digital connectivity.
  4. Sustainable construction — Targeting carbon footprint reduction, conserving resources, and promoting circular economy principles.
  5. Mining challenge — Focusing on securing commodity supply, automation, and ESG (environmental, social, and governance) criteria.

Exhibitors will showcase cutting-edge technologies and innovations aligned with these themes, emphasizing the importance of sustainability and digital transformation for the industry's future. Notable returning exhibitors include Volvo, Deutz, CNH, Liugong, Skyjack, and JLG. Over 150 new exhibitors will also participate, including Fortescue, Sandvik, Metso Oyj, HG - 100% electric dumpers, and EXiron AG.

In addition to the main exhibition, visitors can expect interactive exhibitions on construction robotics, additive processes, digitalization, and expert interviews in the VR Experience Zone at Bauma 2022. The Bauma FORUM will feature short lectures, panel discussions, and keynotes on the key themes, while the Science Hub will present projects from 11 research institutions, showcasing innovations in areas such as autonomous bulk material transport, cable robots, and mobile excavators with person recognition.
