Destruction of Hamas Observation Post Used in Attacks Against Soldiers Captured on Video
In the ongoing efforts to maintain security for Israel and its border communities, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have been actively engaged in a series of extensive military operations targeting terrorist organizations within the Gaza Strip.
Recent operations by the Nahal Brigade and the Israeli Air Force (IAF) in the Daraj Tuffah area of northern Gaza have been particularly noteworthy. Over the past few days, the IAF has carried out strikes on approximately 130 to 150 terror targets across the Gaza Strip, targeting terrorists, underground tunnels, military structures, weapons storage sites, sniper posts, command and control centers, and launchers used by terrorist groups.
Simultaneously, the Nahal Brigade, under the command of the 162nd Division, has been actively operating in the Daraj Tuffah area. Their operations involve eliminating terrorists, dismantling terror infrastructure including underground routes, and locating and destroying weapons caches.
The objectives of these operations are to neutralize terrorist threats, destroy weapons and infrastructure used to launch attacks against Israel, and disrupt terrorist command capabilities. The IDF reports over 100 terrorists killed in these operations over the past week, including senior commanders from Hamas's military wing and other militant groups.
Israeli ground forces are also conducting raids in southern Gaza areas such as Khan Yunis and Rafah, uncovering weapons and tunnel shafts, further aiming to dismantle terrorist infrastructure across the enclave.
The observation post in the Daraj Tuffah area, which was being used by the enemy to direct troops, was identified as a potential threat by ground troops. It was targeted due to its potential threat to the troops and was struck by an aircraft guided by the brigade's Fire Control Center. The dismantled sites also contained weapons stockpiles and military structures containing explosives.
The overall strategic goal is to degrade and dismantle terrorist operational capability in Gaza, particularly focusing on the northern Gaza Strip and specifically the Daraj Tuffah neighborhood, thereby reducing the threat to Israeli civilians and military personnel.
These operations are conducted in accordance with the objectives of the war and are part of the ongoing efforts to maintain security for Israel and its border communities. The Israeli Air Force has been involved in these operations, with the IDF continuing to operate against terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip.
