TV Parsberg triumphs in a thrilling 1-0 victory over FC Tegernheim in the relegation playoffs

TV Parsberg secured a place in the second round of the relegation playoffs for the football Landesliga, following a narrow 1-0 away win against FC Tegernheim. The decisive goal was scored by Alexander Guth in the 30th minute with an impressive shot into the corner. The clash, attended by 700 spectators, was characterized by intense competition, combative play, and electrifying moments.

"Tegernheim showcased superior technique, but we held our ground against a formidable home team, demonstrating heart, passion, and discipline. The win was certainly deserved," declared TV coach Stefan Weber after the final whistle.

TV's coach, Thomas Schneider, voiced criticism for the perceived lack of "cold-bloodedness" reminiscent of Kareth games, while admitting a positive outlook leading into the return match. The game saw several near misses by Tegernheim, with chances squandered by Bierlmeier (4'), Isufi (12'), Rieger (14'), Cieslik (17'), and Wasmeier (27').

In the 29th minute, Alexander Guth netted a long-range goal to put TV Parsberg in the lead, much to the delight of their traveling supporters. Tegernheim responded with intensified pressure but missed another significant opportunity through Ertel (37'). Parsberg played a tenacious defense, with every tackle and challenge met by unyielding enthusiasm from the fans.

The second half saw a struggling FC Tegernheim, while TV Parsberg had a few narrow escapes when a free kick from Höllrigl struck the crossbar (48') and a shot from Heimisch was saved by keeper Walter (51'). Several penalties were issued, including 10-minute suspensions for Özlokman (FC) and Traub (TV) and a red card for Tegernheim's Rieger (71') for a foul. The latter stages were marred by frequent interruptions and set pieces, but no further goals were scored, with Isufi from the home team hitting the post with a free kick (75').

In a cautious assessment, TV coach Weber emphasized the importance of preventing Tegernheim from scoring another goal, promising a spirited performance in the home return match. "We are through the first half of this playoff series. We are not out of the woods yet, but our strategy worked out effectively. There are still 90, or even 120, intense minutes ahead for both teams," Weber said.

With the return match scheduled for Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 4 PM, both teams are gearing up for a closely contested playoff battle. TV Parsberg enters the return leg as slight favorites due to home advantage, but FC Tegernheim's determination and underdog status could make for an exciting encounter.

The thrilling victory of TV Parsberg over FC Tegernheim places them in the running for promotion to a higher European-league, demonstrating the potential for greatness in the local sports landscape. In the upcoming return match, both teams will showcase their tenacity and skill, promising an electrifying European-league qualifier.
