The skate park project in Enzauenpark, Germany, is progressing with concrete plans available, following a successful third participation event held on September 12, 2023. This event brought together the local community to provide feedback and shape the future skate park facility.

During the event, attendees reviewed draft designs and offered opinions on the layout, features, and overall aesthetics. The feedback was instrumental in shaping the project, with a strong emphasis on inclusivity for skaters of all ages and abilities.

The current plans propose a mix of street-style obstacles and bowl features, including multiple ramps and rails of varied heights, a flow bowl with smooth transitions for intermediate and advanced skaters, and a flat area for beginners to practice basic tricks safely.

Safety and accessibility are key considerations in the design. The plans incorporate clear sightlines for supervision, durable surface materials, lighting for evening use, and accessibility ramps for users with disabilities.

Environmental integration is also a priority, with the skate park designed to blend seamlessly with the existing natural setting of Enzauenpark, maintaining green spaces and minimizing environmental impact during construction.

The project team aims to finalize technical drawings and begin preparatory work in late 2023, with construction set to start in early 2024.

Ralf Maier, a former BMX professional, German champion, and world champion, was present at the event to provide his expertise in skate park planning. Maier's landscape architecture firm, based in Cologne, presented three designs for the skate park.

Maier and Philip Sonau, a city representative, discussed specific wishes and suggestions from participants during the event. A group of young people and young adults from the skate scene had already expressed their support for the location before the decision was made.

The skate park project invites public participation to further develop the project. If you would like more detailed sketches or official documents, contacting the local city planning office is recommended.

The location for the new skate park is south of the Enz, near the now-defunct sports facility "Holzhof". The project is expected to become a popular recreational spot in the community, offering a versatile and inclusive space for skateboarders, BMX riders, scooter riders, and all interested parties.

Participants at the event provided feedback on the proposed skate park layout, with a focus on inclusivity for skaters of all ages and abilities. Ralf Maier, a former BMX professional, discussed specific design wishes with city representative Philip Sonau, following the event.
