Design proposals unveiled for a skate park in Enzauenpark by architects

The planned skate facility in Enzauenpark is moving forward with concrete plans, as announced by Mayor Peter Boch. The city council made a unanimous decision to build the new skate facility in May 2022, and since then, two successful and well-attended participation workshops have taken place.

Interested parties, including skaters, BMX riders, scooter riders, and other enthusiasts, have been actively shaping the new facility together. Their specific wishes and suggestions have been incorporated into the concrete plans for the skate facility.

Ralf Maier, a former BMX professional and German champion, has been instrumental in the planning and implementation of the workshops. His expertise in BMX and skate facilities, along with his presence, is supported by the city. Philip Sonau has also been involved in discussions regarding the participants' wishes and suggestions.

The designs for the skate facility are now taking shape, and the event is a part of the development of the skate facility project. The third and final public participation event for the skate facility project will take place on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at 5 pm, at the Old City Garden in the Enzauenpark, Hohwiesenweg 40. All interested parties are invited to attend.

The exact location of the skate facility within Enzauenpark is Hohwiesenweg 40, Old City Garden. This location was advocated for by a group of young people and young adults from the skate scene. The skate facility will be south of the Enz, near the now-defunct sports facility "Holzhof".

Mayor Boch expressed his pleasure at the number of interested parties participating in the project, stating that their input is crucial to the success of the skate facility. He encourages all to attend the final public participation event and continue to shape the new facility together.

For the latest and most detailed information on the skate facility plans or the outcomes of the public participation event, it is recommended to check official municipal websites of Pforzheim or local urban planning departments, or contact the event organizers directly.

The skate facility in Enzauenpark, which is under development, is not only for skaters but also caters to BMX riders, scooter riders, and other sports enthusiasts, as many interested parties have been actively shaping its design. This new facility will be located at Hohwiesenweg 40, Old City Garden, a spot that was advocated for by the skate community.
