Desert Warrior: New Historical Epic Premieres at Zurich Film Festival
A new historical epic, 'Desert Warrior', has premiered at the Zurich Film Festival. Directed by Rupert Wyatt, the film is set in Arabia during the 7th century and features an immense battle between the forces of Princess Hind and the despotic Sassanid Emperor, Kisra. Sir Ben Kingsley takes on the role of Kisra, while Aiysha Hart portrays Princess Hind.
The film's production favoured practical effects, giving it a terrific look. It was shot in the desert country of Tabuk Province in Saudi Arabia in 2021. The battle scenes involve vast numbers of extras and daring horse and camel-back stunt work.
'Desert Warrior' stars Antony Mackie as a wily nomadic Bandit who assists the exiled Princess Hind and her father, King Al-Numan, played by Ghassan Massoud. The film is produced by Jeremy Bolt, known for the 'Resident Evil' franchise, in partnership with MBC Studios. AGC is handling international sales for the film, with John Fremes as the contact.
'Desert Warrior' promises to be a thrilling addition to the historical drama genre. With its impressive cast, practical effects, and epic battle scenes, the film is set to captivate audiences. It is currently available for international distribution through AGC.
