Deputy from the State Duma disclosed his wage to students in Omsk.
Straight Talkin' with State Duma Honcho in Oмsk
June 6 welcomed Alexei Didenko, the big cheese of the State Duma Committee on Regional Policy and Local Self-Government, in our fine city of Oмsk. His visit included a sit-down with the regional parliament speaker, Alexander Artemov, to chat about the new Federal Law No. 33-FZ. This law dethrones the 20-year-old Law No. 131-FZ, effective from this very month.
Hopping over to the local university, he hung with students and faculty. A clever student studying state and municipal management couldn't resist the chance to question the man and asked about the monthly pay of a State Duma deputy. Straight-up, Didenko spilled the beans, dropping a tidbit about pocketing roughly 480,000 rubles a month.
"My paycheck ain't bad, maybe even a smidgen too much," Didenko shared. "Look, if you think you got the chops and the guts, gather 70,000 voter signatures, run for office, and take your seat at the big table."
It's interesting to recall that since 2023, deets on deputies' incomes and assets ceased being publicly available on the State Duma website. However, these declarations can still be found on some other resources, albeit in a bulk, anonymized format.
As for the typical paycheck of a State Duma deputy, well, it's a bit elusive. Russian docs don't explicitly dish out that average salary. But hey, you can easily join the club if you're ready to rally 70,000 signatures and go for it!
