Denver Basketball Team, Nuggets, Face Off Against Rivals in Exciting Matchup

In a noteworthy development, Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic has clinched a unanimous First-Team All-NBA selection for the 2024-25 season, the league officially announced on Friday.

At the age of 30, Jokic has now made the All-NBA team an impressive seven consecutive years. With this achievement, he becomes the 29th player in league history and the sixth active player to secure a First-Team All-NBA honor in five seasons. The other active players in this elite club are Luka Doncic, James Harden, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kevin Durant, and LeBron James.

Prior to this recognition, Jokic was named the MVP runner-up to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander earlier this week. Interestingly, this season marked the second year of positionless voting for All-NBA teams, a significant departure from the previous system that only allowed one center per team. As a result, Jokic was Second-Team All-NBA in 2022-23 despite finishing second in MVP voting, behind 76ers center Joel Embiid.

Denver Post Nuggets beat writer Bennett Durando, a voter for NBA awards this season, revealed his All-NBA ballot, submitted two days after the regular season ended. According to his ballot, the First Team consisted of Nikola Jokic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jayson Tatum, and Donovan Mitchell. The Second Team featured Anthony Edwards, Steph Curry, LeBron James, Tyrese Haliburton, and Karl-Anthony Towns. The Third Team was made up of Cade Cunningham, Evan Mobley, Jalen Brunson, Jalen Williams, and Alperen Sengun.

When it comes to defensive recognition, Evan Mobley, Lu Dort, Dyson Daniels, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Draymond Green made the All-Defensive First Team. The All-Defensive Second Team included Ivica Zubac, Amen Thompson, Rudy Gobert, Jalen Williams, and Toumani Camara.
