Demonstrations in CDMX amidst raids and deployment of military against migrants in Los Angeles; Supporters asserting "Trump admires Mexicans"

Dissidents Take to the Streets of Mexico City, Denouncing Trump's Immigration Policies

In the heart of Mexico City, a determined crowd marched from key landmarks like the Glorieta de Insurgentes, metro Hidalgo, and Ángel de la Independencia towards the U.S. Embassy on Paseo de la Reforma. Their mission? To demand an end to mass raids and the military's involvement in the treatment of migrants, particularly those in Los Angeles, California.

This protest was part of the "No Kings" movement, a collective effort by Mexicans, foreigners, and Central Americans to challenge the policies of U.S. President Trump, who they claim not only violate migrants' rights but also undermine the welfare of Americans living with the ramifications of militarization.

As they stormed down Avenida Juárez, Calle Génova, and Florencia, headed for Paseo de la Reforma, protesters brandished inverted U.S. flags, a poignant symbol of their disapproval of the Trump administration's practices.

"America has no kings!" they chanted as they expressed their disdain for a country they no longer recognize, plagued by unjustified violence and the erosion of democratic principles.

The vanguard carried a unique flag, a fusion of U.S. and Mexican colors, symbolizing solidarity between the two nations and resistance against the growing tide of deportations of fellow countrymen who sought a better life in the U.S.

This demonstration was not an isolated event; it coincided with protests in 60 U.S., Canadian, and global cities which took advantage of the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army and Trump's birthday to articulate their dissent for the government's policies.

Later in the day, a second gathering was scheduled outside the U.S. Embassy, where participants would gather to voice their frustrations about their migrant families' situation, their dissatisfaction with Trump's policies, and expressions of support for the Mexican population in Los Angeles, Texas, Chicago, New York, and other states affected by ICE's aggressive deportation tactics.
