In the quiet neighbourhood of Cerro del Tejolote, Ixtapaluca, a tragic event has sparked a wave of indignation and calls for action. On July 13, around 7:00 AM, Mrs. Patricia Cruz Morales, a well-known figure in the community for her 20-year stint selling tamales and atole, was brutally murdered. Her two children, aged 12 and 13, are now left orphaned, as their father had passed away five years prior.

The Antorchist Movement of the State of Mexico, a local advocacy group representing the residents of El Tejolote and Mexicans across the state, is demanding action to address the escalating insecurity in the district. They have called for a March for Peace, which will be attended by residents from other neighbourhoods, to demand a thorough investigation into Mrs. Morales' murder, an end to the rising crime in the area, and a response from the municipality regarding their requests for enhanced security measures.

The community's pleas for action have fallen on deaf ears, with crime in the area on the rise and no response from the municipality to their concerns. The Antorchist Movement plans to protest, demanding that the government takes necessary steps to provide security to the population, a right they consider essential for all Mexicans.

The incident is not an isolated one, as a subject was caught stealing inside a residence just a day before Mrs. Morales' murder, yet the municipal police refused to intervene. This lack of action and the prevailing situation of criminality in Mexico have left the population frustrated and unwilling to live in fear.

The Antorchist Movement has taken their concerns directly to President Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, requesting her intervention regarding the insecurity in Ixtapaluca and throughout the State of Mexico. If the municipality headed by Felipe Arvizu de la Luz does not respond, the Antorchist Movement will continue to demand action from President Sheinbaum.

The tragic death of Mrs. Morales serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for action to address the rising insecurity in Cerro del Tejolote and beyond. For comprehensive, reliable information on crime rates and community safety responses in the area, it would be best to consult official sources such as the State of Mexico’s public security reports, local police departments, or community organizations active in Ixtapaluca.

The Antorchist Movement, addressing insecurity concerns in the State of Mexico, is rallying for a March for Peace to pressure the government into providing essential security measures, following the tragic murder of Mrs. Morales in Cerro del Tejolote. This event, along with the rising crime rate, has sparked demands for political action in the general-news sphere, with calls to correct the situation in crime-and-justice discussions at both local and state levels.
