Netflix's "KPop Demon Hunters" Tops Most Popular English Films of All Time
In an impressive feat, Netflix's animated musical film "KPop Demon Hunters" has climbed to the top of the platform's Most Popular English Films of all time list. With a total of 236 million views as of the week of August 18-24, 2025, the film has surpassed all other English films on Netflix, making it the most-watched English film ever on the platform.
Released on June 20, the film has been steadily climbing the charts since its debut. In its first three days, it garnered 9.2 million views, and as of August 17, the weekly view count for "KPop Demon Hunters" is 26.0 million views. Given the current weekly chart numbers, it's likely that the film will claim the top spot within the next week.
The film's success is not limited to its view count. Its original soundtrack has been topping charts worldwide, with four songs simultaneously in the Billboard Hot 100 top 10, indicating strong cross-media success. The song "Golden" from the film's soundtrack has reached number one on the German single charts.
"KPop Demon Hunters" is an animated musical film produced by Sony Pictures Animation. The film features a boy band whose members are actually demons, and a K-Pop girl group named Huntrix (Huntr/X), consisting of Rumi, Mira, and Zoey.
As Netflix only reports view counts for the first 91 days of a film's release, "KPop Demon Hunters" has until September 19 to potentially claim the top spot and become the most successful Netflix film of all time. With its current pace, it seems likely that it will achieve this milestone.
