In a hot off-the-press interview with the "Weser Kurier," SPD's Senator for Urban Development of Bremen, Özlem Ünsal (SPD), ain't afraid to shake things up. She's proposing to blow the roof off the old Kaufhof building in the city center. She's talking bold moves, y'all.
"We need to make a statement here, man," says Ünsal. "This property is prime real estate, and we can do something truly incredible."

Sounds like a go-getter plan, right? But guess what? The SPD and the Greens usually prefer to keep things as they are, only fixing up the old joint. Only the Left party seems to be down with knocking it down.
But, you got to give Ünsal props for being open-minded, even offering to examine partial retention, just in case.
Now, to be clear, the interwebs don't exactly have the details on this proposal set in stone. Some sources suggest that Ünsal's been busy focusing on public transportation improvements instead.
