In a heated exchange at the Bundestag, Green and the Left parties have called for an end to border expulsions, slamming the current practice as legal limbo for asylum seekers.

After a Berlin Administrative Court ruling in favor of three Somali asylum seekers, who opposed their expulsion without a Dublin procedure, the expulsions were deemed unlawful. Neither Merz nor Dobrindt, however, seemed to budge from their stance, with Dobrindt's order still in place.

Clara Bünger, Left MP, referred to the court ruling as a "slap in the face" for the government, claiming it was an act of executive disobedience. The Green and Left parties have both submitted motions in the Bundestag, seeking an end to border expulsions and the withdrawal of Dobrindt's corresponding order.

Germany's CDU and SPD factions have issued opposing responses. Alexander Throm, a CDU politician, defended the expulsions as part of Germany's ongoing effort to reduce unlawful migration. The SPD's Sebastian Fiedler supported the coalition agreement and acknowledged the confusing situation but emphasized the need for the government to create clarity.

The AfD's Christian Wirth posited that Germany lacks the capacity to integrate large numbers of migrants from culturally disparate countries, deeming it a national emergency.

While the political landscape is marked by varying views on immigration policies, the ongoing motivations and stances of these parties have yet to be fully clarified in their entirety. The focus, for now, remains on the contentious issue of border expulsions, a topic that shows no signs of abating.
