Demise of Rap Artist Xatar, Known for Gangsta Rhymes

Get ready to bid farewell to the infamous, charismatic rapper Xatar, whose real name was Giwar Hajabi. At the tender age of 43, Hajabi left this world, causing an uproar in the rap community. The news of his untimely demise was confirmed by a spokesperson for the Cologne Public Prosecutor's Office.

Hajabi, born in 1981 to a famous composer and conductor and a musician in Iran, lived most of his life in Germany. He made Bonn his home before moving to Cologne, where he founded the highly successful label Alles oder Nix Records in 2008. The label quickly gained traction in the rap scene, signing artists like SSIO and Schwesta Ewa.

The rap world knew Xatar nationwide since 2009, when he, along with accomplices, pulled off an audacious cash-in-transit heist, securing gold worth a whopping 1.7 million euros. His criminal record and subsequent eight-year prison sentence made headlines across the country. The loot, however, remains unaccounted for.

Hajabi's time behind bars did little to dampen his spirit or talent. In fact, it fueled his hunger for success, leading to the creation of his critically acclaimed album "Nr 415," which he recorded in Rheinbach prison. The album, named after his prison cell, became a sensation, peaking at number one on the German charts in 2014.

Xatar also dabbled in business, making a name for himself in the jewelry business, owning a kebab shop and a shisha bar. In 2022, he unveiled the Goldmann Tower in Cologne, which was set to serve as the flagship of his new music label, Goldmann Music. Tragically, the company filed for insolvency in 2023.

The German magazine "Rolling Stone" hinted at Hajabi's recent health troubles. In 2021, the rapper reportedly experienced a severe health crisis. Afterwards, he declared his intention to take a day off each week to focus on his health. He also claimed to have lost an impressive 50 kilograms, as a precautionary measure due to his doctor's warnings.

Marina Buzunashvilli, Xatar's former promoter, mourned the loss with an emotional Instagram post, "Until we meet again." Fellow rappers Haftbefehl and Farid Bang also expressed their condolences, with Haftbefehl sharing a poignant photo of him and Xatar, "Words fail me, my brother. I hope you're in a better place now."

The cause of Xatar's death remains unknown. The Cologne Public Prosecutor's Office is conducting an investigation, with a particular focus on determining if there were any signs of "criminally relevant external influence." An autopsy was conducted, but no external signs of violence were found. The investigation continues.
