Jean-François Davy, a maverick in French cinema, left an indelible mark on the industry with his diverse and often unorthodox works. The director-producer sadly passed away on May 2, 2022, at the age of 79, in Paris, following a heart attack.

Born to a teacher father and a catechism teacher mother in Paris on May 3, 1945, Davy's love for cinema was kindled in his teenage years. A high school student at the time, he established an association of amateur filmmakers. He made his debut as an assistant director on Luc Moullet's film, Brigitte and Brigitte.
