Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are set to kick off their home campaign in the Ligue 1 season, aiming to maintain their unbeaten start to their title defence against Angers.

Ousmane Dembele, who spearheaded PSG to glory last season, will be a key player for the home team. The French international recorded an impressive 46 goal contributions (33 goals, 13 assists) in all competitions last term. In their opening-day win over Nantes, Dembele created more chances than Desire Doue and Lee Kang-In combined.

Dembele's 14 goal involvements (eight goals, six assists) was the second-most by a French player in a single season after Karim Benzema for Real Madrid in 2021-22. He also provided two assists in a Champions League final in 2022, a feat not achieved since 2018.

Two new additions to the PSG squad, Illia Zabarnyi and Lucas Chevalier, will make their home debuts against Angers. Zabarnyi previously played for AFC Ajax, while Chevalier spent time at Lille OSC.

Angers, on the other hand, have had a mixed start to the season. They have lost four of their last five away games in Ligue 1, but have won three of their last four Ligue 1 games overall. Goalkeeper Koffi made seven saves in Angers' first Ligue 1 game, the most saves by any goalkeeper in a single match. However, Koffi made more saves against Angers in a match than he did against PSG or Nice.

PSG have not lost to Angers in their last 27 Ligue 1 games (W20 D7). The club will present five trophies they won last season at their home game against Angers.

As the race for the Ballon d'Or heats up, Dembele is among the contenders. However, he faces stiff competition from several other players.

Eight of the last 11 Ligue 1 champions have won their first home game of the season. PSG will be looking to join this list and continue their dominance in the league.

Barcola had nine touches in the opposition box against Nantes, tied for the most on PSG's team with Ramos and Mbaye. However, Barcola played three crosses against Nantes, fewer than Kang-In's 10.

PSG have won each of their last 10 league home games against Angers. Luis Enrique, the PSG manager, will be hoping to get off to a positive start in this game and continue PSG's impressive form against Angers.
