Delta PDP Leaders Issue Warnings to Party Members: Don't Switch Allegiances to APC

In the Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ovwian Ward 7 have called on party members to stay loyal and not consider defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

During a meeting held at the Ovwian Community's town hall, the PDP leaders expressed their determination to reclaim the stolen mandate, from the local governments to the presidency.

Former PDP Ward 7 leader, Odjeku Matthew Uparan, urged members to remain steadfast in the PDP, expressing that there was no other party in Ovwian Ward 7 worthy of their allegiance. He emphasized the importance of staying in the PDP and working for the party, warning against the deceitful tactics of those trying to persuade members to join the APC.

Another leading PDP member, Lawson.A. Oghoifo, argued that those who had defected to the APC had been problematic within the PDP before their defection. Since their departure, Oghoifo contended, the PDP had gained freedom and was therefore cause for celebration. He further stated that the PDP leaders had no intention of leaving the party, as they were not thieves.

These calls for loyalty were made specifically in anticipation of the 2027 general elections, with the leadership warning against the consequences of joining the opposition APC. The PDP leaders' message highlighted a strong commitment to the party's unity and stability, with a view to preventing the loss of membership and influence to the opposition ahead of electoral contests.
