Molotov Attack on Peaceful Jewish Protest in Colorado: Perpetrator Showed No Remorse
Deliberate Assault on American Jewish Protest: Premeditated Act of Aggression
In a chilling display of violence, a 45-year-old Egyptian man named Mohamed Sabry Soliman targeted a peaceful march in support of Israeli hostages at Pearl Street Mall in Boulder, Colorado. The man shouted "Free Palestine" as he hurled Molotov cocktails, leaving 12 injured in his wake, although initial reports indicated only 8 victims[1][2].
Soliman, a Colorado Springs resident, allegedly purchased the materials to construct the Molotov cocktails online and had more than a dozen unused ones on him after the attack. He confessed to authorities that his intentions were far more sinister — he wanted to kill every participant at the event[2]. However, his account suggests he was scared and failed to execute his full plan.
The FBI quickly identified Soliman as the suspect. Federal authorities charged him with multiple felony counts, including attempted murder and a federal hate crimes charge. His legal status in the U.S. came under scrutiny as he arrived in the country in 2022 on a non-immigrant visa but had since lived in the U.S. illegally[1][2].
As for his family, Soliman's wife and five children were detained by immigration officials and faced potential deportation due to their questionable immigration status[2]. At present, Soliman remains in custody, fighting his serious charges.
This senseless act of violence serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing tensions between Israeli and Palestinian groups, as well as the dangerous consequences that can stem from spreading hate speech and extremist ideologies.

The Commission has also been consulted on the draft directive regarding the increase in antisemitic incidents, such as the Molotov attack on a peaceful Jewish protest in Colorado. The escalation of anti-Israel sentiment in general news, politics, and war-and-conflicts discourses, including crime-and-justice forums, should be addressed to prevent further hate crimes.
