Delhi Launches 'Pink Saheli Smart Card' for Free Women's Bus Travel

The Delhi government has introduced the 'Pink Saheli Smart Card', offering free travel on Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and cluster buses for women and transgender individuals aged 12 and above. The card, launched under the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) framework, is a significant step towards improving women's safety and accessibility in public transport.

The 'Pink Saheli Smart Card' provides free travel exclusively on DTC and cluster buses, with the option to recharge and top up for other transport modes. It is personalized with the cardholder's name and photograph, ensuring security and ease of use. The card was developed and launched by the Delhi government, with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announcing its launch on her social media platform, X post.

To avail the card, applicants must be bona fide residents of Delhi, aged 12 years or above, and possess valid identification proof. This initiative aims to empower women and transgender individuals, promoting their independence and safety in public spaces.

The 'Pink Saheli Smart Card' is set to revolutionize women's and transgender individuals' commuting experience in Delhi. By providing free and secure travel options, the Delhi government has taken a significant step towards creating a more inclusive and safe public transport system.
