Ukraine and Poland are set to share expertise as a high-level Polish delegation is expected to visit Ukraine this week. The visit, which was announced last week, has been arranged to learn about Ukraine's experience in countering Russian drone intrusions.

The news was shared by Ukraine's Foreign Minister, Andrii Sybiha, during a recent statement. Heorhii Tykhyi, spokesman for Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also confirmed the upcoming visit. Further details about the visit, including the exact date and the composition of the delegation, will be provided by Ukraine's Ministry of Defence.

The announcement comes after an incident in early September, where around two dozen Russian drones entered Polish airspace. On 10 September, some of these drones flew almost 300 km deep from the eastern border, causing public outrage in Poland. Following the incident, discussions intensified about the need for Poland to adopt the experience of the Ukrainian forces in countering this threat.

However, a public outrage erupted in Poland after media reports suggested that the only house damaged during the attack in Lublin Voivodeship may have been destroyed not by a downed UAV, but by a faulty missile from a fighter jet. The Polish government has not yet confirmed or denied this claim.

The visit will be held at a high level, focusing on learning about Ukraine's experience in countering Russian drone intrusions. To date, eighteen drones have been found so far, most of them in Lublin Voivodeship. The details of the visit have been set, but not announced for security reasons.

The Minister of Defence is expected to provide more details about the visit, and further updates are anticipated to be shared by Ukraine's Ministry of Defence in the coming days.
