Bold-Mouthed PDP Chieftain Slams President Tinubu and APC's Role in PDP's Woes
"Dele Momodu Criticizes Tinubu for Labeling Nigerians as Idle-Noses Due to His Disagreement with Wike"
In a no-holds-barred interview with Channels TV, Dele Momodu, an influential ally of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), launched a scathing attack on President Bola Tinubu, accusing him of undermining the Nigerian people and strangling democracy. Momodu also pointed the finger at the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), claiming they're breathing down the PDP's neck, causing unrest and divisions.
During the eventful exchange, Momodu delivered a sharp rebuke to Tinubu, who recently addressed the commissioning of the Abuja International Conference Centre. The President tacitly warned Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, against paying attention to the crowd of critics and excessive busybodies. Yet, Momodu couldn't hide his disdain for Tinubu's remarks.
"It's a damn shame, mate," Momodu exclaimed, "for the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Commander-in-Chief, to address our fellow countrymen as busybodies. It's a single step away from calling Nigerians invisible bastards."
Momodu, echoing sentiments of dissatisfaction, paralleled Wike's dominance in the FCT to Tinubu's long-term control over Lagos, implying that the latter hasn't displayed the audacity Wike now embodies.
"Hell, I've seen big cats in Lagos, but they ain't nowhere near the size of the freakin' bear Wike's become."
Taking the matter further, Momodu publicly admonished Tinubu, stating that he would have more respect if he called out regional adversaries rather than the Nigerian populace.
Meanwhile, Momodu too didn't shy away from criticizing his own party, the PDP, when he spoke at a programme on Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State. He stated that the APC's nervousness regarding the PDP is evident in their attempts to destabilize the main opposition. In his view, the PDP can easily topple the APC in 2027, maintaining that it's solely due to lack of unity in the PDP ranks.
"The APC is sweatin' pants off seein' the PDP gettin' its groove back, but it's a dog-eat-dog world, mate. The PDP needs to sharpen its teeth if it wants to chew off the APC's share."
As Momodu called for a formidable coalition of opposition parties to defeat Tinubu, he bitterly acknowledged his own sense of disillusionment with the PDP. With his soul already escaping the scene, he still finds himself bound by mere body to the party for the time being.
